RB Leipzig has extended it loan deal with Brighton & Hove Albion for Brajan Gruda. “We’re delighted that Brajan will be staying at RB Leipzig for another season. He showed during his first few months here what he can offer and how well his attributes suit the way we want to play,” said RB Leipzig managing director for sport Marcel Schäfer in a release from the club. “He is technically gifted, creative and quick, while his quality in the final third gives us another dimension in attack. Despite still
being young, Brajan has already gained considerable experience at the highest level in both the Bundesliga and the Premier League. That will be valuable during a demanding season in which we will be competing on three fronts.”
For Gruda, staying was a no-brainer.
“It quickly became clear to me that I wanted to stay at RB Leipzig. I was determined to make the move last winter and my first few months here lived up to everything I had hoped for,” said Gruda. “The style of play suits me really well and I feel completely at home within the team and at the club. RB Leipzig gives me the best possible environment to continue developing both as a player and as a person, while also helping the team again from the outset. We qualified for the Champions League together and now we want to enjoy a successful season in Europe, the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal.”
This should present a nice boost for RB Leipzig’s attack as it seeks to chase down Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga (not exactly an easy task).
The extended stay in Germany could also help Gruda get back on the radar of the German national team.
