The Kentucky Wildcats coaching staff has been working hard on the recruiting trail over the past couple of weeks, offering players in the 2027 class, and navigating the transfer portal for this upcoming season.
The Wildcats have officially offered a top-10 recruit in the class of 2027, Paul Osaruyi. The 6-foot-9, 225-pound big man from Scottsdale, Arizona, announced that he received an offer from Kentucky via his social media accounts. He plays basketball at Bella Vista Prep in Phoenix, Arizona.
Osaruyi,
who has a Canadian background, told KSR’s Jack Pilgrikm that he’s had his eye on the Wildcats for a long time now. Kentucky has deep ties with Canadian hoopers, as Jamal Murray and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are two notable players who have played in Lexington.
Osaruyi has been a potential reclassification candidate because he was born in February of 2008. Playing in college in 2026 is not fully out of the question for the highly sought-after power forward.
“It’s up in the air. Right now, my agent and I haven’t discussed anything like that.” Osaruyi told KSR.
Other schools involved in his recruitment include West Virginia, Arkansas, Oregon, UNC, Duke, Houston, Virginia, and Texas, among others.
