Spain boss Luis de la Fuente has showered Pedri with more praise after seeing the Barcelona midfielder star once again for his team in a win over Bulgaria in World Cup qualifying.
Pedri was substituted to a standing ovation in the second half of the 4-0 win for Spain and De la Fuente hailed his unique qualities after the match.
“You can expect anything from Pedri. He is a great, unique footballer, who sees spaces and gaps where no one sees them. He always chooses the best outlet that his teammates
give him,” he told TV3 after the match.
“For me, it’s still a gala team. I already said that we are privileged to have players to complete three or four competitive teams and they show it. It’s a luxury and I congratulate them for their commitment, the game, the attitude… I’m enjoying the moment.”
Pedri started both games for Spain over the international break and continues to rack up the minutes for club and country. His workload will be of concern but we’ll have to wait and see if he’s given a rest in the coming weeks.
