Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga talked to ESPN FC and gave some inside access to the team’s dressing room and what the chemistry is like now that Arbeloa is in charge.
“Arbeloa has the same spirit as Ancelotti. He gives us a lot of freedom and he talks to the player. Sometimes he comes with gifts after training… donuts, Speculoos, Oreo…These types of players just have to be happy. When you’re happy, your feet do whatever you want them to do,” said the Frenchman.
Camavinga also explained how
the team has been improving in recent weeks.
“A lot of players have left and others have arrived. We have to build a new team. I don’t know what happens to us in the Champions League. We listen to the music and something changes inside us. Against City we understood that we could defend together, suffer and then attack to kill the opponent. At Real Madrid we have to win everything. The spirit is good now. We are young and we understand each other easily. When the team is fine in spirit, everything is easier on the field. My personal goal is to be more consistent, play more,” he added.
He also compared Real Madrid’s current midfield line to the one Los Blancos had when Modric or Kroos were still around.
“We are not like Kroos, Modric or Casemiro. We have more power and speed. Football has changed as well,” he said.
