Last week the New York Jets suffered their third straight loss following an opening day win against the Tennessee Titans. They faced off against the Chicago Bears on the road. The game was never competitive. The Bears dominated the Jets in every phase of the game. They took whatever they wanted whenever they wanted it. In the 23 -12 Jets loss the Bears held the ball for all but 45 seconds in the fourth quarter. They posted nearly 500 yards of total offense and more than 200 yards rushing. They had
more first downs than the Jets had plays from scrimmage. It was a humiliating, lopsided Jets defeat that in no way was as close as the score might indicate.
The loss gave the Jets a 1-3 record on the season. Today the Jets try to get back on the winning track as they return home to face the Cleveland Browns. Kickoff is scheduled for shortly after 1 PM at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The Browns opened the 2026 season with a 34 – 10 blowout loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. They have not lost since. The Browns have strung together three straight one score victories and are now sitting atop the AFC North standings with a 3-1 record.
The Jets are missing several offensive starters today, including star running back Breece Hall and starting guard Dylan Parham. They will also be without three wide receivers. With the weather expected to be rough in a driving rain storm, the Jets’ best chance for victory today probably involves a heavy dose of the ground game led by Braelon Allen. If the Jets can’t get Allen untracked this could be a long, ugly day for Jets fans. Can the Jets halt their recent skid? We’ll find out soon enough.
It’s the Jets and the Browns in game 5 of the 2026 season. Enjoy the game everyone.
