Barcelona’s eight opponents in the opening stage of the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League season have been revealed after the draw for the competition’s League Phase was made on Thursday evening in Monaco.
The Catalans will face Manchester City, Aston Villa, Feyenoord and Como at home and Paris Saint-Germain, Sporting Lisbon, Galatasaray and Sabah away between September and January as the Blaugrana look
to finish in the Top 8 to guarantee a spot in the Round of 16 and avoid the Playoffs, as well as trying to guarantee a Top 2 seed to make sure they’ll host the second legs of all knockout rounds.
The headline matchup is obviosly the meeting with reigning back-to-back champions PSG, who will face Barça for the second year in a row in the League Phase. Barça will travel to the Parc des Princes this time around, and Ferran Torres will face his former club right away.
Another huge matchup is against Enzo Maresca’s Manchester City, as Erling Haaland and Co. will visit the Blaugrana at Camp Nou. Barça will face another English club in Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, who will also come to Camp Nou and undoubtedly give Barça a very tough game.
The other two home games are against Dutch giants Feyenoord and a lovely meeting with Cesc Fàbregas’ Como, who will make their Champions League debut and bring their exciting and well-coached young team to the Catalan capital.
Other than PSG, Barça get a very tough set of away fixtures against Sporting Lisbon in Portugal, Galatasaray and a brutal atmosphere in Turkey, and debutants Sabah from Azerbaijan, which is one of the longest trips any team will make in Europe this season.
The full fixture list will be released on Saturday with the exact dates of Barça’s matches, but we do know their European journey will begin on the week of September 8-10, with the league phase finale scheduled for January 27, 2027.
