We have heard rumblings in the last few weeks that Juventus want to make a move for one of the best goalkeeper prospects in Italy these days, Lorenzo Palmisani. That move could very well come during the upcoming January transfer window, according to reports last month, and would be a bit more expensive as compared to the summer months when we heard Juve were reportedly interested.
But, of course, random late-September rumors can always be taken with a grain of salt.
Unless the player’s agent comes
out and confirms pretty much everything we’ve previously heard from the Italian press.
That is what Palmisani’s agent, Federico Pastorello, did during an interview with Sport Mediaset on Wednesday. Not only did he confirm Juventus’ interest in the 22-year-old goalkeeper who is currently playing for Frosinone, but said that the Bianconeri considered bringing him in this summer to be the backup option behind Guglielmo Vicario, who is spending the 2026-27 season on loan from Tottenham. (Juve have a very affordable €8 million option to buy Vicario outright from Spurs next summer.)
But, thanks to what Palmisani’s agent has told us, we now also know this: There’s interest from the Premier League, too — which will make any future move potentially that much more complicated because of the simple financial superiority that the top league in England currently has.
Here is everything that Palmisani’s agent had to say about Juventus having interest in signing his client:
“Juve had already made an approach over the summer, as did several other clubs including in the Premier League. Juventus had a moment where they could’ve decided whether to get him as an understudy for Guglielmo Vicario, which would’ve been an opportunity, but such a talented young player really needs to play.
“Let’s just say Juventus are in the pool of possibilities, then we’ll see what happens.”

Considering how Palmisani has started his first season in Serie A and all of the plaudits he has received in recent weeks, staying at Frosinone and playing every game possible was the right call. His heroics in Frosinone’s 2-0 win over Como last month were a perfect encapsulation of that.
Same goes for the contract extension that he signed shortly after, with his new deal through 2031 another sign that Frosinone look to maximize the value they can potentially get for him on the market come January or next summer.
Saying Juventus are “in the pool of possibilities” is a nice way to say that the Bianconeri are going to make another go of it. It could be in the kind of form that was reported last month — sign him in January, leave him at Frosinone on loan until the end of the season before he returns to Turin come the summertime — or it could just be the kind of deal they couldn’t get done a couple of months ago.
Either way, Juventus are in the market for a young goalkeeper they can potentially build around for the long term — and Palmisani appears to be the club’s top target for exactly that.
