It has been a long two weeks since the Green Bay Packers last played a game, drawing to a tie with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football in week 4. It has been even longer — 31 days, to be exact
— since they were on their home turf at Lambeau Field.
That day, the Packers beat the Washington Commanders to move to 2-0 on the season. Now, after a loss, a tie, and a bye, the team will look to get back on track at home by welcoming in the Cincinnati Bengals, who are 2-3 and will start a quarterback who has been on their roster for only a few days.
Green Bay comes in as a huge favorite today over the Bengals, with the spread still sitting at two touchdowns. The last time the Packers were favored by at least 14 points was late last season when they demolished the New Orleans Saints 34-0 on Monday Night Football. A similar result is what Packers fans are — and should be — looking for tonight.
The Bengals are among the NFL’s worst teams in scoring offense (29th) and defense (30th). No team has committed more turnovers on offense than the Bengals have (11). They are are last in the NFL in total yards, they rank second-last in yards per rush, and they are fourth-worst in net yards per pass attempt.
All of that means that this should be a blowout win for the Packers, but we said that a few weeks ago against the Cleveland Browns. They still have to go out and make it happen, so join us here in the comments as we watch to find out if they do just that.
