In the pre-practice press conference, Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur wouldn’t commit one way or another on whether tight end Luke Musgrave, who has spent the entire regular season on the physically unable to perform list with a neck injury, will come back this season. Here was LaFleur’s full quote on whether Musgrave will be back in 2026:
That’s tough to say right now. Until proven otherwise, I would say no, but I would never close the door on that.
Whatever neck injury Musgrave has suffered,
it seems to be serious.
On the injury report today, the only changes were that quarterback Jordan Love (back) was elevated to a full participant, while both linebacker Zaire Franklin (shin) and edge defender Lukas Van Ness (illness) popped up as limited for the first time. The only non-participant in the Packers’ practice today was receiver Bo Melton, who is also dealing with a back injury.
For the most part, it looks like the 53-man roster (really a 50-man roster right now, with the expectation that running back Josh Jacobs will be added to the active roster at some point this week) should be good to go — with the possible exception of Melton — against the Detroit Lions.
If you’re wondering about the offensive line situation, the Packers repped their normal line of Jordan Morgan-Laken Tomlinson-Sean Rhyan-Travis Glover-Anthony Belton (left to right) with the additions of Aaron Banks and Kevin Zeitler with the first-team unit in the media-open portion of practice, according to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Green Bay’s guard combo of Tomlinson and Glover struggled against the Dallas Cowboys (as we broke down in depth earlier today), so I wouldn’t be shocked if Banks and/or Zeitler end up getting a look against Detroit.
