I had never been to Texas before this year, and I ended up in Houston twice.
Unfortunately, I didn’t make it to Minute Maid Park either time. One trip was before the season, and the other was during the season by meetings ran long, making going to that part of the city difficult. Chances are that I’ll be down there next year or the year after, and I’ll make more of an effort to get to that park.
But I did make special trips for food. Living in the Midwest, BBQ is not … a thing you can find in high
quality, but you can in Houston. More traditional Mexican food was on the list as well, and there are definitely some good spots to go to eat. They certainly gave me some ideas for my own coming and grilling.
I can’t say that the city of Houston was all that interesting. I have lived in Atlanta, and in the grand scheme, they seem to offer similar things. But man, the food was legitimately very good everywhere I went.
