According to a report from Sky Germany’s Kerry Hau (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich multi-purpose star Konrad Laimer could be content to enter the final year of his contract as a lame duck.
Per reports, there is a substantial gap between what Laimer wants and what Bayern Munich is willing to offer. Given that, Laimer is willing to punt on talks for a while:
Konrad Laimer is not in contact with other clubs. Despite the stalled negotiations with Bayern, Laimer feels very comfortable at the club and
is in no rush to make a decision. He’s focused on the rest of the season and then the World Cup. As things stand, the most likely scenario for Laimer is to go into the final year of the contract without an extension, just like Davies and Upamecano did.
The Laimer situation is one that is key to watch. The perception is that Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl has been taken to the woodshed in negotiations with Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich, and Dayot Upamecano. At some point, a player will not get what he wants…will that player be Laimer?
