Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, formerly known as The New Day, have been announced for their first public appearance since their departures from WWE earlier this month.
GalaxyCon Oklahoma City listed the duo as participants on May 23 and May 24 of their four-day event. For the appearance, Woods is being billed as Austin Creed, the name he used prior to his stint in WWE, while Kingston is going by simply Kofi. (His real name is Kofi Nahaje Sarkodie-Mensah.)
The wrestling stars will be available for
autograph signings and photo opportunities.
News broke on May 2 that Kingston and Woods had mutually agreed with WWE to part ways. The move came as a major surprise to fans since the stable was one of the most successful and popular teams in WWE history.
Reports later surfaced that claimed the duo had signed new contracts with the company, but then TKO asked them to restructure their deals with a pay cut. They reportedly refused to these terms and were subsequently granted their release.
Woods and Kingston formed The New Day with Big E more than a decade ago. Big E stepped away from the ring after suffering a major neck injury in 2022 and eventually made his competitive retirement official in February 2026.
Last week, WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported Big E will remain with WWE following the departures of his former teammates, continuing on with his current work as an analyst on PLE panels and post-show coverage. However, the report did not indicate how much time is believed to be left on his current contract.
Kofi and Xavier both shared statements to their fans about their exit from WWE.
“The New Day gave me a bond with @TrueKofi and @WWEBigE that I’ll cherish for life,” Woods wrote —in part — in the message posted on social media. “You believed in us, even when our ideas were wild, and because of that, we got to show people that being unapologetically yourself is a strength.”
Along with inspiring advice for his fans, Kingston wrote in his post: “My story has been nothing short of remarkable and I am truly blessed to have had such an illustrious, accolade-laden and, most importantly, fun-filled career. I made my childhood dream become the most wonderful reality.”
