Chelsea advanced to the final eight of the Women’s FA Cup thanks to a dramatic, extra-time victory over Manchester United in the Round of 16 this weekend, and our reward for that will be a home game against Tottenham Hotspur in the quarterfinals. Spurs beat London City Lionesses last night on penalties to advance and have to now face the powerhouse Blues (the draw was in fact made before the match).
The match will take place on Easter Sunday, April 5th at Kingsmeadow. All four quarterfinals will be
played at the same time in fact: Arsenal will play Brighton, Manchester City will be away to Birmingham City, and second-division Charlton Athletic will host Liverpool.
The Blues are currently on international break, which will extend into the first week of March. We are back in action on Sunday, March 15th, when we take on Manchester United, again, this time in the League Cup final. With the WSL re-re-re-re-re-re-repeat out the window, domestic Cups are our best chance at winning a trophy or two this season still.
