The Wisconsin Badgers got a big blow to their 2026 recruiting class on Wednesday when 2026 four-star receiver Jayden Petit de-committed from the program.
Petit, a native of Florida, was Wisconsin’s highest-rated
recruit in the class and a top-100 recruit in the cycle. He had been committed to the Badgers since the summer after an official visit, but continued to receive interest amid a monster Fall season.
Unfortunately, Petit decided to de-commit on Wednesday, and he has found a new home: the Oklahoma Sooners. The four-star was heavily courted by the Sooners in the summer before committing to the Badgers. They remained in the mix throughout the fall, and, amid Wisconsin’s offensive struggles in the passing game, ultimately became the favorite to land Petit.
With Petit’s decommitment, the Badgers will have to scramble over the next week to add to their 2026 recruiting class, which has only one wide receiver commit: Zion Legree.
Wisconsin had been hoping for three during the summer, even having commitments from Petit and three-star Tayshon Bardo in addition to Legree. But, they mutually parted with Bardo, hoping to go elsewhere at the position before striking out on targets like Xavier Stinson, who committed to Iowa.
Currently, Wisconsin has 13 commits in its 2026 class, which ranks 71st in the nation according to 247Sports.
