The Dallas Mavericks (10-17) host the Detroit Pistons (21-5) in one of their final home games in 2025. Dallas is coming off a tough road overtime loss to the Utah Jazz. The Pistons are riding a four-game
win streak, with their most recent win coming against the Boston Celtics.
Here’s the main things you need to know before the game kicks off.
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs Detroit Pistons
- WHAT: Trying to bounce back against the red hot Pistons
- WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
- WHEN: 7:30 p.m. CST
- HOW: KFAA Channel 29, MavsTV streaming, NBA League Pass
The injury report is action packed as always for the Mavericks. The usual guys are out: Kyrie Irving, Dante Exum, Dereck Lively. Anthony Davis is listed as questionable with whatever is wrong with his calf and he wasn’t seen at shootaround. However, soft tissue injuries are weird, he may well end up playing. Naji Marshall was a recent addition to the questionable ranks due to an illness. D’Angelo Russell is also still questionable due to illness. Brandon Williams is also questionable with an Achilles injury. The Pistons have a clean injury report, a stark contrast to the Mavs.
The Pistons are killing teams in the paint and on the boards (related items). If Dallas is without Anthony Davis, they will struggle to do much about what the Pistons want to do. An outlier three point shooting game could help put the Mavericks over the top, but this one feels like a fun game that ends in a loss. Looking forward to seeing what Cooper Flagg does against a good defense.
Consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start around 10:15 pm. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
