Well, it comes down to this. 103 matches. 48 teams. The World Cup ends today with one of Spain or Argentina lifting the trophy in New Jersey. That also means either Spain’s Pedro Porro and Argentina’s Cuti Romero & Marcos Senesi are going to end the day very happy with a lovely gold medal and fat ring. It’s the third straight World Cup that a Tottenham Hotspur player has been a winner.
But first — did you SEE that bronze medal match yesterday? I know I basically crapped all over it ahead of time and
I was right to do so, usually these games are turgid boring affairs in which neither team really wants to play. Both France and England collectively decided that since this match had virtually no stakes, why play defense? YOLO. The result was a 6-4 instant classic that was incredibly stupid, but also incredibly compelling.
So before we get to how to watch the final, if you skipped this match you really really should watch the extended highlights. It’s the best worst stupidest match you’ll see in a long time.
