A long-running WWE series has a new home. WWE Main Event recently moved from Peacock to YouTube after WWE’s Peacock deal ended in December.
The first YouTube episode, on Jan. 8, ran nearly 53 minutes and
included a couple of matches alongside Raw recaps. This week, the show was shorter, around 26 minutes, focused almost entirely on in-ring action, and featured only two promotional spots: one for WrestleMania and one for the upcoming Royal Rumble.
Since the start of the year, much of WWE’s catalog has shifted to Netflix and WWE Vault, the company’s YouTube channel for classic content. Peacock remains the home of Saturday Night’s Main Event and full seasons of SmackDown, though new episodes of SmackDown appear 30 days after their original air date.
Peacock also still hosts NXT’s premium live events, though its deal reportedly expires in March. The future of NXT on Peacock, as well as WWE Main Event on YouTube, remains unclear. WWE did not respond to a request for comment.
WWE Main Event debuted on Ion Television in 2012 before moving online to Hulu and Peacock. The show often serves as a showcase for mid-card talent, with recaps of that week’s programming.
