The offseason moves along, and there’s still a sense that we’re in the calm before the storm. Nothing much has happened yet, but dominos could start to fall at any moment. There wasn’t much hot stove buzz yesterday, but we did learn that Cody Bellinger somewhat unexpectedly won the Platinum Glove, determined by fan voting and given to the top fielder in each league. Bellinger has turned into one of the finest all-around players in the league, and it’s cool to see him recognized for his mastery of the finer
parts of the game.
This morning, as we brace for what could be a hectic few weeks before the league locks out the players, John looks at who could be the Yankees’ primary trade chips. Also, Matt appreciates former Yankees broadcaster Jim Kaat on his 88th birthday, Michael provides our weekly Arizona Fall League update, and Peter issues a mea culpa regarding one Cam Schlittler.
Questions/Prompts:
1.Were you surprised to see Cody Bellinger take home the Platinum Glove in the American League? (Pete Crow-Armstrong earned the hardware in the National League).
2. If you could plop one MLB free agent, other than Tarik Skubal, onto the Yankees, who would it be?
