The feud between Jon Moxley and Darby Allin has escalated into madness. What’s the next logical step after a Coffin Match and threatening violence with a flamethrower? An I Quit match, of course.
Allin
issued the challenge during Dynamite while igniting his flamethrower. During Collision, AEW made the match official for the WrestleDream PPV on October 18 in St. Louis, MO.
Moxley reflected on the situation. He has shown patience and mercy to Allin, only to have it thrown back in his face. Moxley hoped that Allin would understand the greater mission, however, it still hasn’t clicked to him. Moxley will play Allin’s game. He knows what it is like to dare the world to kill him. This game never ends well. And the truth is that Mox is better at this game than Allin. Moxley likes simple answers to difficult questions. How will Mox get rid of Allin? Moxley will make him quit.
As best as I can tell, there have been two official I Quit matches in AEW history. Moxley forced Eddie Kingston to utter those words in a world title match in 2020, and Adam Copeland won the TNT title from Christian Cage in this stipulation in 2024.
What’s your prediction for how the winner will make the loser quit?
