With training camp comes roster shuffling, and the Seattle Seahawks made a minor rearrangement to the deck on Tuesday.
Garrett Nelson, an EDGE who went undrafted after the 2023 NFL Draft, was signed to the Seahawks’ 90-man roster, the team announced on Tuesday morning. Nelson was among four Seattle tryouts listed in Monday’s transaction wire.
To make room for Nelson’s addition, rookie UDFA wide receiver Kyre Duplessis was waived just a week after he himself joined the team.
Since going undrafted, Nelson
has spent time with the Miami Dolphins, Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, and New Orleans Saints, with his second stint in Denver taking him through most of the 2025 season before he was waived in May, though he is yet to appear in a regular season game. He also made a two-season cameo in the UFL with the San Antonio Brahmas, where he totaled 2.5 sacks and three tackles for loss.
In four seasons at Nebraska, the 6-foot-3, 240-pound pass rusher registered 12 sacks and 26 TFLs.
Duplessis, waived after a short stint in Seattle, had previously spent time with the Detroit Lions this offseason.
