Tigres and Rayadas de Monterrey had all the highlights this week due to things happening inside and outside the field. Added to that, the Amazonians took Club América’s place in the table.
Besides that, something is cooking in San Luis.
Ève Périsset joins the Amazonians
After Toluca announced one of the league’s biggest signings with Eugénie Le Sommer, it was Tigres’ turn.
The league’s insiders are reporting the signing of French international Ève Périsset. After bringing María “La Bombi” Sánchez back and Diana Ordóñez to contribute
in the front, they decided to bring a seasoned defender for the backline.
The French right back not only won the UEFA Women’s Champions League with Lyon but she’s also a multiple Coupe de France champion with OL and PSG. Most recently, she won the Super League with Chelsea twice (2022-23, 2023-24) and the FA Cup in the 2022-23 season. All that before moving to Strasbourg in 2025.
According to reports, Périsset has been in Monterrey since last Monday and passed all the medical tests. The defender was set to travel to the US this week to get her working visa so she can be registered for the club as soon as possible. The inclusion of Périsset will bring more competitiveness to the right back position, one that has been undisputed since Anika Rodríguez arrived at the club.
Rayadas and Amelia Valverde part ways

After Monterrey got trounced by its foe 4-0 last Sunday, the club decided to let Costa Rican coach Amelia Valverde go. It was no surprise to learn about the decision since the club is not even near the level it was in the past. Tigres scored four unanswered goals in the first half, and if it weren’t for the weather delay, the score might have been even bigger.
This was the third game this season that Rayadas let four goals scored on them, finding no answer in 90 minutes played. What is more, this bad result drops them to the 7th position in the table, something unheard of for them in the past.
The decision to sack Valverde didn’t include just her but also her coaching staff and it is expected that the club’s assistant coach, Carla Rossi, also leaves.
Club América drops, Tigres rises, San Luis sticks out
After the resounding win against Rayadas, Tigres claimed the top of the table. The win left them with the same amount of points as Club América but with a better goal difference.
While América battles with injuries and expects the injured players to return, they keep going. In week 10, they had an interesting match against Atlético de San Luis, which came to this match with a five-match unbeaten streak.
This test against the table’s top team was going to be a good one for San Luis to see what they’re made of. And you can say they passed the test. Not only did they pass but they also had some luck, which is always important in soccer.
At the beginning of the game, it didn’t look as if San Luis could get anything against América, though, because the hosts scored twice in less than five minutes (Montse Saldívar 20’, Bruna Vilamala 24’), but then, one minute later, María Sánchez pulled one back and in the 67’, América’s Jana Gutiérrez scored an own goal to level things up.
As a result, América fell to the second spot in the table while Tigres claimed the first one. What about San Luis? They’re sixth with 17 points, and although they share points with Rayadas and Chivas, thay have a better goal difference.
