Nathaniel Brown’s career trajectory has seen a steady rise through the Bundesliga ranks. He spent his teenage years at FC Nürnberg in the academy and second division before moving to Eintracht Frankfurt on a €3M deal only two years ago. After cutting his teeth in the Champions League, being voted Frankfurt’s 2025/26 player of the season, and heading to the World Cup with Germany, he has drawn the gaze of Bayern Munich and has already agreed on personal terms.
According to Bild (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern
has cleared a major hurdle in the negotiations but there is a major catch.
[Frankfurt sporting director] Markus Krösche has already given Nathaniel Brown permission in principle to join Bayern; he doesn’t want to stand in the way of this career move. However, Frankfurt want a fee in line with the player’s market. Eintracht currently value Brown at around €60-65m. This fee – including add-ons – is what they aim to get. Bayern have already been informed of that. Frankfurt don’t want negotiations to drag on, they want to finalize the entire process quickly.
With multiple years remaining on his Frankfurt contract, Frankfurt holds all the cards here. Bayern has reportedly set €50M as their cap, which seems reasonable considering Brown’s Transfermarkt value is around €40M. But after watching Bundesliga clubs spurn Bayern last summer and still receive top dollar offers from Premier League clubs, Frankfurt will look to squeeze every last drop from this genius bit of recruiting and development.
