The Chicago Bears held a “Varsity Bears” practice at Stevenson High School (Lincolnshire, Illinois) earlier today, and with a physical, padded practice scheduled for tomorrow at Halas Hall, today was a low-impact walk-through. Which means not much of a camp report; however, there were a few notable things, including a stadium update!
Bears chairman George McCaskey was asked by NBC Chicago’s Patrick Fazio if there was any news about the ongoing stadium saga, and McCaskey said that an update will be
provided “in the coming days.”
And regarding building in Indiana, McCaskey said: “We’re doing some due diligence on a 2nd site in Hammond (Indiana).”
And if there was anything new regarding the Arlington Heights, Illinois location, McCaskey said “No.”
Welp… You can check out Fazio’s video below.
Per CHGO’s Adam Hoge, “Luther Burden, Kyler Gordon, Montez Sweat, and pretty much every other injured player signing autographs. Burden seemed to be walking relatively normally.” He also said that Zavion Thomas, who left practice yesterday, was spotted and “doesn’t appear to have much of a limp at all.”
Defensive back Cam Lewis, who left practice a couple of days ago on a cart and was held out yesterday, was on the turf for the walk-through.
Despite what you may have seen about Gervon Dexter Sr., he was still lined up with the ones when it mattered today. He may have walked through with the threes a time or two, but with Jordan van den Berg emerging and Dayo Odeyingbo being worked in at defensive tackle on occasion, math tells us that someone unexpected will need to get a few reps with the threes once in a while.
As a reminder, we talking ‘bout (a walk-through) practice…
Check out a few videos from the day.
