It’s Monday, and we are back at it! Fresh off a weekend of football games, there was a lot of action! News will continue to come your way, and we are here for it all. Check out our original coverage and what
we can find from the World Wide Web below.
Spartans in control against the Lobos
Heading into this Friday night contest, most people assumed New Mexico would take care of business pretty handily, but San Jose State had other ideas. Featuring the offense many imagined they would have heading into the year, they lead from start to finish behind their high-powered offense. Walker Eget had his best game of the season, with 334 yards and 3 TDs, featuring a heavy dose of Danny Scudero. Also, RB Steve Chavez-Soto was thrust into playing time and responded with 2 rushing TDs.
Aztecs roll over the Rams.
San Diego State was facing the lifeless Rams and took full advantage Friday evening. Moving to 4-1, SDSU scored in every quarter. QB Jayden Denegal had arguably his most efficient game of the season, going 13 for 16 with 2 TDs. The Aztecs had 540 total yards of offense, with two running backs over 100 yards on the day.
Rebels stay undefeated against Cowboys.
UNLV pretty much dominated this one from start to finish, despite some odd stat disparities. For instance, Wyoming outgained them in total yards with 356 compared to 254. Wyoming also had more first downs (22 to 15) and of course, the Rebels had more penalty yards (68 to 46). However, the Rebels played their best on special teams, blocking two punts and returning them for touchdowns. They also forced 2 Wyoming turnovers in the red zone. They moved to 5-0 following this victory.
Bulldogs tame Wolf Pack
It was a closer game than expected by the end of things, but Fresno State was in control of this one for most of the game. The Bulldogs scored all 20 of their points in the second quarter thanks to EJ Warner finding Josiah Freeman in the endzone twice. The Wolf Pack battled back in the second half, with freshman QB Carter Jones leading two touchdown drives of his own. But the Bulldogs held on.
Nevada will go with Carter Jones at QB
