The New York Jets will come to town this evening to take on our very own Miami Dolphins. Both teams enter this week’s game at 0-3, but it’s in Miami at this point where all the pressure is on the staff
to produce now, or perhaps start preparing their resumes. The drum beat to fire everyone, or at least someone, for the way the Phins have come out of the gate this year, looking unprepared with a woeful lack of talent or depth at far too many positions on the team.
In years past, this fan base has suffered through bad defenses or bad offenses, but rarely have we seen this team be so consistently bad on both sides of the ball. The Phins dropped their opening game to the Indianapolis Colts 33-8 (how does this offense only manage 8 points against the Pats?). Miami then followed that up with a loss in week two to the New England Patriots, in a game that Miami should have clearly won, 33-27, and a week three loss to the Buffalo Bills two Thursdays ago, 31-21.
The Jets, being the Jets that we have all come to know and despise, also have a resume that is laughable, although they do beat the Dolphins in nearly every metric. The Jets lost their opener to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 34-32. New York then lost in week two to the Bills, 30-20. The Jets again lost last week in an away game at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 29-27.
