The New York Giants are continuing to pursue options to compete for spots at the bottom of their 53-man roster, with Ian Rapoport reporting that former Kansas City Chiefs defensive back/special teamer Nazeeh Johnson is visiting the team on Thursday.
Johnson was a seventh-round pick by the Chiefs in the 2022 NFL Draft. Over three seasons, he played 494 defensive snaps, all in 2024, and 286 special teams snaps. Johnson had a 108.0 passer rating against in 2024, giving up 32 completions in 51 targets.
Johnson also reportedly visited with the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday.
The Giants drafted cornerback Colton Hood in Round 2 and signed Greg Newsome II in free agency.
If Johnson were to sign with the Giants, he would compete for a depth role with players like Deonte Banks, Jarrick Bernard-Converse, Korie Black, Thaddeus Dixon, Art Green, Nic Jones, and Rico Payton.
The Giants’ roster is currently at 88 players, not including unsigned first-round draft picks Arvell Reese and Sisi Mauigoa.
