Real Madrid completed their final training session on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s La Liga meeting with Málaga at the Santiago Bernabéu.
José Mourinho’s team returns home looking to maintain its perfect start to the league campaign after victories over Espanyol and Real Sociedad. The Málaga game, which kicks off at 5 p.m. local time, is Real Madrid’s third match of the new La Liga season.
Saturday’s session at Real Madrid City began with warm-up exercises on the pitch before Mourinho and his staff moved
the squad into tactical work. The players then went through pressing and possession drills, with the session concluding with a series of small-sided games.
The injury situation remains unchanged heading into the weekend. Aurélien Tchouaméni, Raúl Asencio, Ferland Mendy, Éder Militão, Rodrygo, Endrick, and Thiago Pitarch all continued with individual recovery programs rather than taking part in the full session.
Militão and Endrick were able to work separately on an adjacent pitch as they continue progressing from their respective physical issues, while the other unavailable players primarily carried out their recovery work indoors.
With none of the injured players expected to return against Málaga, Mourinho is likely to have a similar group available to the one he called upon for the opening two league fixtures. Academy players Fran González Mestre, Mario Rivas, Jorge Cestero, and Alexis Ciria could therefore remain involved with the first-team squad.
There was also a familiar face at Valdebebas on Saturday morning. Former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos visited Real Madrid City ahead of the Málaga game. Ramos, who is currently without a club following the end of his spell in Mexico, returned to the training complex where he spent so many years during his legendary Real Madrid career.
Real Madrid will now turn their attention entirely to Sunday’s match as they look to enter the first break in the congested early-season schedule with maximum points from their opening three La Liga games.
