In Sunday’s ACC Action, Clemson takes on Georgia, Delaware State visits Miami, West Georgia hits Hotlanta to see about them Yellow Jackets, Virginia and Butler play in the Greenbrier Tip-Off, Quinnipiac
challenges Pitt in something called the Skyscanner Legends Classic and Tulane matches skills with Boston College in the Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic – Lowcountry Bracket.
Miami, Georgia Tech and Pitt should win and losses would be damaging. BC? You’d like to think so but the Eagles are just not playing very well.
We should still learn stuff about the other ACC teams and that’s good, but the only games of interest are likely to be Clemson vs. Georgia and Virginia’s tiff with Butler.
Georgia is 6-0 and the Bulldogs are talented, but Brad Brownell appears to have put together a competitive and competent team. Georgia is like more talented, but the Tigers have some players too.
Finally, is Virginia’s improvement for real? At first glance, obviously it is, because the Wahoos just sucked last season. But when they run into good teams? And how good is Butler?
We don’t know, but our sense is that Virginia really is pretty good. after Butler, they’ll soon see Texas, Dayton and Maryland. If they enter ACC play unranked, that’ll send a message.
