Michael Olise was named Man of the Match in Bayern Munich’s opening match of the 2026/27 Bundesliga season against VfB Stuttgart:
The Frenchman, like his teammates, started off slowly but grew into the game as it progressed. Olise and Harry Kane complimented each other perfectly and to deadly effect as the hosts ran away from the visitors who nearly ran out of answers for the rampant red machine.
Olise got his goal thanks
to a persistent Joshua Kimmich who pushed forward and found the 24-year-old winger in acres of space in front of the Stuttgart goal to make it 2-1 to Bayern at that moment. Olise also had a goal that was chalked off by VAR due to him being offside. It was a highly debatable call, but we can do nothing about that now. Aside from Kimmich, Olise is the rightful winner of the Man of the Match award and today’s performance just underlines his importance to the Rekordmeister.
Bayern’s other goals came from Dayot Upamecano, a Josha Vagnoman own goal, Luis Díaz, and Aleksandar Pavlović.
