What is the story about?
After two years at LSU, Connor Benge has been selected at #385 overall in the 13th round by the Miami Marlins.
Benge transferred from DBU for the 2025 season and played a big role early before slowing down later in the year. His opportunities were more limited in 2026, with only 7.0 innings, half of what he saw in 16.0. He became a matchup guy and, at times, excelled
at it.
In two seasons in Baton Rouge, Benge totaled 23.0 innings with a 7.43 ERA. He struck out 28 hitters and walked 16. He held a record of 3-1.
Benge is a hard-throwing RHP who could be dangerous with some extra development for his offspeed.
LSU has now seen six players from their 2026 roster selected in this year’s draft.
