TKO signed a multi-year agreement with the Arizona Sports & Events Alliance to bring a slew of events from its brands UFC, Zuffa Boxing, PBR (Professional Bull Riders*), and WWE to the state. That included Royal Rumble 2027, the 40th edition of WWE’s popular event built around multi-wrestler battle royals which help determine WrestleMania’s main event matches.
The previous Royal Rumble was held in Saudi Arabia this past February, but when we found out next year’s was happening in Glendale, Arizona’s
State Farm Stadium, we didn’t get a date. But if you’re someone who’s been waiting to cross a live Royal Rumble off your bucket list without traveling somewhere feminism, atheism and homosexuality have been labeled extremist ideas punishable by jail and flogging?
We now know that next year’s Royal Rumble is happening on Sat., Feb. 6.
That’s the week in between the NFL’s conference championship games and the Super Bowl WWE likes to target whenever it can, so no big surprise. Also not surprising but still cool for folks in Arizona or headed there for Royal Rumble: the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale will host SmackDown on Fri, Feb. 5, along with a special AAA Road to Rey de Reyes event.
Who’s going?
* Which I specify for those like me who will always think “Pabst Blue Ribbon” when they hear that acronym.
