What is the story about?
If you took all the Dots I knew when I was single
And brought ’em all together for one night
I know they’d never match my sweet imagination
Everything looks worse in black and white
- UW Softball went into its regional in Fayetteville as the #2 team of the four in the group. They performed, instead, as the #3 team in the group. They lost the opener against South Florida, but bounced back in the losers bracket to beat Fordham. That gave them a rematch with USF for the chance to play a dominant Arkansas team to go to the Super Regionals. Unfortunately, the Dawgs lost to USF again to end their season. It was a microcosm for UW’s season- an uneven start, a promising bounce back in the middle, and a deterioration in the end.
- On a happier note, UW Rowing continued its dominant performance for the season. Both the men’s and women’s teams won their conference championships over the weekend. The men beat out their rivals Cal and Stanford by a narrow margin in Lake Natoma, CA. The women won the B1G for their second straight year at a meet in Indianapolis.
- UW Football picked up a big recruiting victory over the weekend with the commitment of Isala Aisa Wily-Ava. The powerful defensive back is another UW commit from St John Bosco in California. Christian Caple outlines the recruiting process and how UW eventually got Wily-Ava in the boat to give their DB class a big shot in the arm.
- UW Track and Field continued its ascent in the B1G at the conference’s outdoor championships in Lincoln, NE this weekend. The women’s team placed fourth with their highest point total since 1998 and came up just a few points out of second place. The men matched last season’s sixth place finish. Both teams were supported by great outings in the distance running events.
