Barcelona have confirmed they have reached agreement with Defensor Sporting Club to extend Patricio Pacifico’s loan deal for another season.
Pacifico arrived in the winter transfer window and was making a good impression at Barcelona but then sustained a torn ACL that saw him sidelined
The defender is not expected to play for a year but Barca are keeping the faith.
Here’s the club’s statement:
“FC Barcelona and Defensor Sporting Club have reached an agreement to extend the loan of player Patricio Pacifico
for another season, until the end of the 2026/27 season. The agreement includes maintaining the purchase option that already existed for the Uruguayan defender at the end of the season.”
The news should be a boost for Pacifico as he recovers from an awful injury that will keep him out of action for a very long time.
Let’s hope he makes a full recovery and can make an impact at Barcelona when he returns.
