Bayern Munich’s massive Bundesliga showdown with Hoffenheim is off to a volatile start.
Bayern Munich star Michael Olise was assessed his 5th yellow card of the season for arguing in the 13th minute. Olise will miss Bayern Munich’s away match vs. Werder Bremen next weekend. The booking does not affect his status for the DFB-Pokal games vs. RB Leipzig on Wednesday.
In the 17th minute, Kevin Akpoguma brought down Luis Díaz in the box, which led to a penalty kick for Bayern Munich and a red card for Akpoguma.
The red card might have been harsh, but Harry Kane took advantage of it by converting his penalty attempt for a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute.
Hoffenheim’s Alexander Prass also was given a yellow card for a foul in the 6th minute as well.
