Hansi Flick has been critical of his team at times this season but was a happy man after watching Barcelona destroy Valencia 6-0 on Sunday night.
The Catalan giants cruised past Los Che thanks to two goals each from Fermin Lopez, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski
Here’s what Flick made it of all:
“From the beginning, we showed what we wanted to do, and that’s what we’ve seen,” he told Movistar. “Not just Fermín, everyone has fought and had fun on the pitch.”
“The team has been fantastic in every position.
The three points are perfect, and for me it’s great to have to choose between Ferran and Lewandowski.”
Flick also spoke about his team selection after starting Raphinha on the bench and handing Roony Bardghji his full debut for the Catalans
“We decided Roony had to play because he’s trained well,” he explained.
“Raphinha has a top mentality. It was a technical decision. There will be games for everyone. Raphinha and Araujo were coming off a long journey.
“I don’t have to say anything more about the Lamine issue and the selection than what I already said in the press conference.”
It’s a great win for Barcelona, particularly as they were without several injured players including Lamine Yamal, and sets the team up perfectly for a Champions League clash with Newcastle.
