The GM search is still ongoing and now it appears they are down to 5 candidates. They are …
interim GM Rob Brzezinski, Broncos assistant GM Reed Burckhardt, Bills assistant GM Terrance Gray, Rams assistant GM John McKay and Seahawks assistant GM Nolan Teasley.
Seeing as I do not know much about what the qualifications these men have besides doing a google search, I could not give an educated opinion about which one might be best. I cant really give an educated opinion on anything really. Based off
my cursory google search, I like Gray and Burckhardt. I could see the team deciding to go with Brezinski at the end of the day. It would not bother me.
Who do you want as GM besides me?

As Vikings search for next GM, what do they value most?
Longtime football administration executive Rob Brzezinski has served as interim general manager since. He is a candidate for the full opening. Would Minnesota consider someone whose primary experience is not in talent evaluation?
“There’s some science to it,” team owner Mark Wilf told Yahoo Sports at the NFL’s May owners meetings on Tuesday. “There’s of course some art. You have to see the person, know the person, get to know them and understand.
“This is a leadership position and someone needs to lead our football organization and that’s kind of how we’re viewing it. Of course, football expertise, football personnel, our entire staff and team and getting people to work together. All of it plays into a mix. I can’t give you any scientific formula, but I’m confident as we spend more time with these candidates and get to know everybody better, it’ll become clear to us.”
“I think we still ultimately need to have a leader who represents ownership who can kind of bring the building together,” Wilf said. “It’s not just the [scouts and executives], it’s coaches, it’s even on the business side.”
“I’m meeting people here in general because I think this accelerator program does great work,” Wilf said. “Some of them are candidates for our GM search and I’ll have informal conversations with them. But of course, the meat of the conversations are in the interviews and spending time in the facility and getting to know them really better.”
Vikings QB Kyler Murray’s Feelings on JJ McCarthy Revealed: Report
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported on the Monday, May 18 edition of “NFL Live” that sources around the league believe Murray chose Minnesota because of the lack of respect he has for McCarthy’s potential as a QB1 at the NFL level.
“There are a lot of people who believe that Kyler Murray handpicked that situation in Minnesota,” Schefter said. “That he could win that starting QB job.”

It isn’t fair to assume that O’Connell can’t win with a player like Murray, given that he’s never had the opportunity during his seven combined years as an NFL offensive coordinator and head coach.
But O’Connell is stuck somewhere between a proverbial rock and a hard place with Murray this upcoming season. If Murray gets hurt, which has been part of his football DNA over the past three years, that might somewhat bail out O’Connell. But should Murray play most of the regular season, the Vikings could end up damned if Murray does perform, and damned if he doesn’t, come 2027.
If Murray is bad, it will undermine O’Connell’s perceived genius as an offensive schemer and leave the Vikings in need of a new option under center. But if Murray is good, Minnesota may be forced to overpay for a player with a serious injury history who isn’t a prototypical fit for O’Connell’s offense.
Vikings’ Blake Cashman Gets Blunt on Kyler Murray’s Arrival
“Kyler’s been great,” Cashman told Rome. “I would say with where we’re at and have been in the offseason program, obviously the offense and the defense have been pretty separate, but Kyler’s been very engaged with everybody in the building, from what I’ve seen, and in our locker room.”
“We went as a group to a Wild playoff hockey game, and he was there,” Cashman added. “I think that’s important, especially being a new guy, because you’re in a brand-new environment working with brand-new people, and those relationships haven’t formed yet. But to put yourself out there and get to know your teammates and start building those relationships is important to having a good football team.
“I think that camaraderie pays dividends, especially as the season goes on. So Kyler is doing all those things, and we expect him to obviously bring what he brings in our locker room, but bring that on the football field as well.”
On the May 18 edition of “Up & Adams,” former Vikings QB Warren Moon had high praise for Murray, but noted that if he doesn’t perform at the level many expect from him, McCarthy will be right there to take the starting job in this competition.
“[Murray] is so dynamic,” Moon said. “He makes so many plays that you go, ‘Wow.’ And then, all of a sudden, he goes through phases where he doesn’t even look like the same guy. I hope that coming into this situation, he’s re-motivated to show what he can do.
“He’s been out of the game for a while with injury. He’s going to a great place, a great coaching staff [and] he has really excellent weapons to throw the football to. It’s all in his possession if he wants it. But J.J. McCarthy is right there, too. I don’t think he’s going to make it easy.”
Minnesota Vikings make another roster move, raising questions about potential future moves
Over the last few weeks, the Minnesota Vikings have been maneuvering with the back end of the roster. After signing 19 undrafted free agents, they have already let go of multiple players in that class. On Tuesday, they made another move by releasing wide receiver Shaleak Knotts from the University of Maryland.
Going into the next phase of OTAs and ahead of mandatory minicamp, the Vikings have two roster spots open to them. That creates an interesting element of the offseason. What will the Vikings choose to do with those roster spots?
