The Miami Dolphins won their first game of the 2026 NFL season on Sunday, beating the New York Jets 28-25 on the road. They return home in Week 8 to face another AFC East rival, the New England Patriots, but oddsmakers do not expect Miami to make it two straight wins.
New England lost to the Chicago Bears in Thursday night’s Week 7 opener, struggling to establish the run in a 30-24 loss. They dropped to 4-3 and into the eighth spot in the AFC playoff picture, one spot out of the postseason. While
it is still early in the season, last year’s AFC representative in the Super Bowl likely did not expect to be on the wrong side of the cutline at this point.
FanDuel Sportsbook oddsmakers expect New England to get right against the Dolphins in Week 8. The line opened on Sunday night with the Patriots favored by 7.5 points; the over/under for total points is at 44.5 combined points.
New England is -405 on the moneyline for the straight-up win. The Dolphins are +320 to pull off the upset.
Can Miami come away with a second-straight victory? Do you think the 7.5-point spread is appropriate? Head to the comments to let us know your thoughts on Miami’s Week 8 game.
