The league phase of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League reaches the halfway point on Matchday 4, with 18 matches set to take place.
Some teams are beginning to find their form, while others are still searching
for consistency after a mixed start to the season.
With plenty still to play for, this round gives UCL Fantasy managers another opportunity to gain valuable points and move up the rankings.
Before discussing my Matchday 4 team, I’d like to take a look back at how my squad performed in Matchday 3, when I activated my wildcard.
UCL MD3 Team Review
It was an important round for my team, and I’ll be reviewing how my key picks performed and where things went right or wrong. This is how my team performed in Matchday 3.
Matchday 3 was one of my best weeks so far, as my team picked up a solid 92 points after I played my wildcard.
Choosing Marcus Rashford as captain turned out to be a great move as he scored twice in Barcelona’s 6–1 win over Olympiacos, giving me a massive 26 points.
My other forwards didn’t quite deliver the way I hoped, though. Harry Kane only managed 6 points, and Kylian Mbappé couldn’t find the net against Juventus, finishing with just 2 points.
Still, it was a strong showing overall, and I even finished as the highest scorer in one of my mini-leagues for Matchday 3.
In midfield, Anthony Gordon and Vitinha really stood out with 14 and 12 points each, keeping my overall score high.
My defenders also did their job well, as Van de Ven and Timber both picked up 8 points from clean sheets. Overall, I was really happy with how the team performed.
The wildcard changes worked out nicely, and I’m now looking forward to seeing my team perform even better heading into Matchday 4.
Two free transfers heading into match day 4
My forward line is filled with quality, but the fixtures this week are far from easy. Harry Kane travels to Paris to face PSG, while Kylian Mbappé goes up against Liverpool.
Both matches are tough, and I’m not too confident about big returns, though with players as good as they are, anything can happen.
One goal or assist from either could still make a huge difference. Marcus Rashford, on the other hand, has the most favourable fixture at home to Club Brugge.
After his brilliant performance in Matchday 3, I’m confident he can deliver again.
In midfield and defence, I’ve tried to keep things steady to balance out the risk in attack. Arsenal’s fixture against Slavia Praha looks promising, and I’m expecting good points from David Raya and my captain, Jurrien Timber.
I’m leaving the armband on Timber for now because I’m not too sure about captaining any of my forwards this week. It feels like the safer call, and hopefully, it pays off.
I had to make one key change in midfield, taking out Kevin De Bruyne for Mikel Merino. He scored a penalty in his last match against Inter Milan but got injured shortly after.
Alongside him, Anthony Gordon faces Athletic Club and should have chances to contribute, while Michael Olise and Vitinha both have tough fixtures against PSG and Bayern Munich, but they’re the kind of players who can still surprise UCL managers.
Overall, I decided to play it smart this week by saving both of my free transfers for later. Matchday 5 could bring tougher fixtures and a better chance to make the right changes, so I’m holding off for now.
Hopefully, the players I’ve trusted can deliver again.
What do you think about my Matchday 4 team? Who are you giving your captain’s armband to this week, and would you have used your free transfers or saved them like I did? I’d love to hear your thoughts ahead of Matchday 4.
