Barcelona were reportedly willing to offer Atletico Madrid the chance to include either Marc Casado or Alejandro Balde as part of a deal to sign Julian Alvarez.
An update from Mundo Deportivo claims that Barca put the names of the two players on the table in recent transfer discussions with Los Colchoneros.
Barcelona were willing to offer €100 million, paid in six installments, and also spoke about Casado and Balde during the talks.
Atletico were quick to dismiss the idea of signing Casado even though
the midfielder would have been willing to make the move to the Spanish capital.
Barca also mentioned Balde, particularly as Atletico had been interested in Marc Cucurella, but that idea didn’t go down well either.
Atletico are now closing in on a deal for Alejandro Grimaldo, with the former Barca defender set to sign from Bayer Leverkusen.
As for Barcelona, it seems Casado may leave this summer after struggling for minutes, while Barcelona are willing to listen to offers for Balde but expect the defender to stay.
