Jim Miller’s march to 50 continues at UFC 328 in his hometown of New Jersey.
MMA Fighting confirmed with sources with knowledge of the matchup that Miller, 42, is set to fight fellow lightweight veteran Jared Gordon, 37, on the May 9 numbered UFC event at Prudential Center in Newark. The bout was first reported by MMA Junkie.
When Miller (38-19, 1 NC) walks out to fight Gordon, it will mark his record-extending 47th UFC appearance and 59th pro bout overall. Miller has fought for the UFC since 2008,
compiling a 27-17 record with one no-contest, and holds notable wins over Charles Oliveira, Donald Cerrone, Clay Guida, Thiago Alves, Joe Lauzon, Takanori Gomi, Melvi Guillard, Gleison Tibau, and more. He competes in his native New Jersey for the first time since defeating Guida in 2019.
Gordon’s 17 UFC appearances are quaint in comparison, but he has plenty of experience going the distance with some of the lightweight division’s best. In his most recent outing this past September, Gordon (21-8, 1 NC) lost by third-round TKO to Rafa Garcia.
UFC 328 is headlined by a pair of title fights as the undefeated Khamzat Chimaev defends his middleweight title against former champion Sean Strickland, and Joshua Van goes for his first flyweight title defense against Tatsuro Taira.
