Manny Machado and Jake Cronenworth are joining Fernando Tatis Jr. as members of the San Diego Padres who have been named finalists for an MLB postseason award. Tatis Jr. was previously named as a finalist for the Hank
Aaron Award and the Rawlings Gold Glove Award.
Machado and Cronenworth were both named as one of the 2025 Silver Slugger Award finalists at their respective positions in the National League, Wednesday.
Machado joined Matt Chapman of the San Francisco Giants, Max Muncy of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Austin Riley of the Atlanta Braves as third base selections. Cronenworth joined Alec Burleson and Brendan Donovan of the St. Louis Cardinals as utility selections.
Machado finished the regular season with 169 hits, 33 doubles, 27 home runs, 95 RBI and 91 runs scored. He slashed .275/.335/.460. Cronenworth finished with 103 hits, 20 doubles, one triple, 11 home runs, 59 RBI and 61 runs scored. He slashed .246/.367/.377.
The winners of the National League 2025 Silver Slugger Awards will be announced on Nov. 6.
