The Chargers had their largest injury report of the young season on Wednesday afternoon with 17 total players listed, not including Khalil Mack who had his weekly veteran’s day off.
Seven players listed did not participate on Wednesday, not including Mack. They were offensive tackle Joe Alt (neck), guard Kayode Awosika (fibula), cornerback Donte Jackson (hamstring), safety Derwin James (hamstring), Ladd McConkey (foot), guard Trevor Penning (concussion), and tackle Rashawn Slater (ankle). Those are
six starters plus Penning who was forced into starting action the past two weeks due to multiple injuries ahead of him.
The remaining 10 players on the report were all limited participants to begin the week. That group includes fullback Scott Matlock (foot) and Branson Taylor (neck) who each had their 21-day practice windows activated earlier this week.
Some of the notable players who are also in the midst of returning from injuries the past few weeks are defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson (hamstring), tight end Charlie Kolar (forearm), and receiver Brenen Thompson (quadricep),
