Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about Mizzou Football and Transfer Portal
Merry Christmas, Mizzou fans!
Transfer portal season doesn’t officially start until January 2nd, but there are big names starting to enter in college football. With the latest departures of Marquis Johnson and Joshua Manning — wide receiver has suddenly become a position of need for Mizzou.
Ohio wide receiver Chase Hendricks has entered the transfer portal and Mizzou fans might want to keep an eye on this one.
Hendricks is a St. Louis native from St. Mary’s High School and was former HS teammates with Jamal Roberts and Kevin Coleman Jr.
Hendricks experienced a breakout junior season with the Bobcats leading the MAC with 1,037 receiving yards. He was named a second team All-MAC selection and is starting to generate some NFL Draft buzz.
There will be plenty of power conference suitors for Hendricks, but Jamal Roberts has hinted at the possibility.

Wilson is suing for defamation after spokesman Steven Drummond told ESPN that Georgia “expects student athletes to honor commitments.” The complaint alleges the comment damaged Wilson’s character by falsely implying he breached a contract.
An interesting development as Damon Wilson is suing Georgia.
It’s hard to see this as anything but a massive step back for an offense that was Top 25 before Lindsey got there.
This Hater’s takeaway: failure
Welp.
Ugly, low-scoring, close, last-second victory type of game. Just the way both teams like to play and have won many times over. It most likely will not be aesthetically pleasing and certainly not a shoot out, but it should be a solid matchup to enjoy during your holiday weekend.
Let’s just hope for a fun game. That’s what bowl season is for.
Missouri has been trending in the wrong direction for a while now and I’m not sure what the fix with this roster is going to be other than just get to the offseason and retool. We’ve seen some awful rosters at Missouri and I’m not convinced this is one of them. They have talent, they have a team built to play fast and attack the rim, and they just don’t do it well enough. They have two guys who should be amongst the best in the SEC. But through a mix of injuries, lineup weirdness, and just some general poor construction in the offseason, this team just kind of stinks.
This is pretty much where Mizzou Basketball is at right now and it’s pretty dang unfortunate in Year 4 under Dennis Gates.
