(#8)Alabama at (#14)Missouri
Noon, ABC
Mizzou has been cruising as they prepare for their sixth conecutive home game to start the season. However, the competition just improved with ‘Bama heading into town.
The Tide have been on a mission since their loss to Florida State in week one, and are coming off impressive victories over Georgia and Vanderbilt in back-to-back weeks. They will look to keep the momentum going, while the Beau Pribula and the Tigers try to prove they are a legit contender in the SEC. Prediction: Alabama-27, Missouri-23
(#6)Oklahoma at Texas
3:30 p.m., ABC
There is speculation John Mateer could make his return for the Sooners tomorrow. Who knows if there’s any shred of truth to this, but you can’t blame Oklahoma for some gamesmanship to keep their rival guessing. It may not matter, as Texas’ woeful offensive line may not be able to handle Oklahoma’s disruptive defensive front. This isn’t likely to light up the scoreboard like we’ve become accustomed to in the Red River Shootout.
Prediction: Oklahoma-23, Texas-16
NC State at (#16)Notre Dame
3:30 p.m., Peacock
The Irish look to continue its attempted march to the playoffs by humiliating every opponent on its schedule after an 0-2 start. NC State is just one of those teams that is good for ruining someone’s season just about every year. They may keep it interesting, but Notre Dame will likely have too much firepower on offense, especially at home.
Prediciton: Notre Dame-35, NC State-24
(#10)Georgia at Auburn
7:30 p.m., ABC
This is one of those series where weird things always seem to happen. Could Auburn find some of that classic Jordan-Hare match-up to help salvage their season? If not, the Tigers may be hitting reset with the end Hugh Freeze era.
Prediction: Georgia-23, Auburn-20
Kansas at (#9)Texas Tech
7:30 p.m., FOX
Is Texas Tech for real? It sure looks like it thus far, as the Red Raiders have emerged as the clear favorite and could be dangerous in the playoffs. There’s still plenty of football ahead before we go ahead and crown them, and the Jayhawks are alway a tricky team to get past.
Prediciton: Texas Tech-33, Kansas-27
(#21)Arizona State at Utah
10:15 p.m., FOX
This should be a great way to wrap up your college football Saturday. Arizona State is trying to keep its hopes alive for a return trip to the playoffs, but will need to survive one of tha nation’s toughest atmospheres under the lights. This should be a back-and-forth battle late into the night.
Prediction: Utah-35, Arizona State-34
