The Blazer’s Edge Best Things Ever Tournament continues onward today. Only two days remain in the first round! But before we get there, and get that second-round bracket set, we have a couple more choices for you to make.
For those who aren’t up to speed, each day we give you two opportunities to choose between two good things. The things aren’t related…they’re kind of random, even. There’s lots of food and music, because those things are common to the human experience, but there are other things too.
They’re smooshed together into pairs and you vote on one of the two to advance to the next round, March Madness style! At the end, we’ll have a single Best Thing Ever for 2026!
This matchup asks you to choose between Barbie and The Beatles.
The Beatles were a 60’s rock/pop quartet. They weren’t terribly original in origin. They came up playing R&B songs lifted from America, learning the basics by copying others. But somehow they turned those borrowed roots into a sound that changed an entire generation and helped define rock music forever. As they grew, they branched out into experimental work, instruments from other legacies ever, a quartet many consider the greatest band in history.
But all of that can be obliterated in your mind with the simple phrase, “I’m a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world…” That iconic little earworm grew from one of the most iconic toy franchises ever. Barbie has spawned millions of dolls, countless accessories, friends like Ken and Skipper, and several movies and TV shows. Nobody doesn’t know the tall, statuesque girl in pink.
So what will it be, Beatles or Barbie? Share your vote and reasoning in the comments section below!
