Colby Covington hasn’t won a fight in over four years.
In fact, “Chaos” skipped all of 2025 and has yet to compete in 2026, but somehow retained a spot on the 170-pound leaderboard. That came to an end earlier this week when the promotion updated its official rankings, dumping Covington while adding a couple of new entries.
“Proper” Mike Malott (No. 11) and Yaroslav “Dynamo” Amosov (No. 15).
Malott (14-2-1) retired longtime welterweight veteran Gilbert Burns in the UFC Winnipeg main event last weekend
in Canada to win his fourth straight. As for Amosov (29-1), he debuted with a finish over 170-pound mainstay Neil Magny late last year and returns at UFC 328 in just a few weeks.
Here’s how the rankings are compiled, at least until AI takes over:
Rankings are generated by a voting panel made up of media members. The media members were asked to vote for who they feel are the top fighters in the UFC by weight-class and pound-for-pound. A fighter is only eligible to be voted on if they are in active status in the UFC. A fighter can appear in more than one weight division at a time. The champion and interim champion are considered to be in the top positions of their respective divisions and therefore are not eligible for voting by weight-class. However, the champions can be voted on for the pound-for-pound rankings.
