Bayern boss denies Haaland interest (Sport Bild via @iMiaSanMia)
Bayern Munich and Erling Haaland is a partnership that has almost happened three times.
Is a fourth attempt on the radar? Not according to Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen:
Jan-Christian Dreesen on Erling Haaland’s name being linked to FC Bayern, after Manchester City were found guilty of charges: “We have the best striker in the world in Harry Kane, and an attacking line that has no equal in Europe. So, from our perspective, the question of signing Haaland doesn’t arise at all.”
When asked if
Bayern could even afford a player like Haaland at all, Dreesen replied: “We’ve proven that we can afford it. We can sign Premier League players. We’ve shown that with Kane, we’ve shown it with Díaz, and we’ve shown it with Olise.” – but he says that Bayern have a wonderful team that they are very happy with, so they have no need for Erling Haaland.
Kane appears to be on the verge of—at least—a two-year extension. If that happens, it would remove any chance of the Bavarians taking a gander at Haaland should Manchester City get sanctioned into the abyss.
Like anything, timing is, indeed, everything.
United not giving up on Hall pursuit (ESPN)
Manchester United still wants Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall:
Manchester United remain interested in Newcastle United left back Lewis Hall, who could cost upwards of £70 million, Football Insider reports. The 22-year-old recently extended his contract until 2031, but United could revive their pursuit next summer, with Newcastle set to reject any January departure. Hall is believed to be happy at St James’ Park, although he has not ruled out a future move to Old Trafford.
Hall was loosely linked to Bayern Munich last summer, but the last thing the Bavarians need at this stage is another left-back.
Flick wants Jeltsch (Foot Mercato’s Max Franco Sanchez)
FC Barcelona boss Hansi Flick thinks that his team needs some defensive help in January, and the former Bayern Munich boss might want to pursue VfB Stuttgart center-back Finn Jeltsch:
Aware of his team’s defensive problems, Hansi Flick has reportedly already asked his management to provide him with a central defender in January.
As reported by Sport , Barça have set their sights on Finn Jeltsch , a 20-year-old German center-back who plays for Stuttgart . The Barça staff consider him an excellent defender, and the reports from the Catalan scouts on the player are particularly positive, confirming Hansi Flick’s intuition about the potential benefits he would bring to the Catalan defense. A good passer, very intelligent in reading the game and anticipating plays, in addition to being robust in duels, the German is a particularly complete defender.
The only problem is that, with several major European clubs interested, his price tag is likely to far exceed €50 million. And as we know, FC Barcelona ‘s financial situation , while slightly better than in recent years, remains complicated. They would need at least one departure, and several players could help replenish the coffers, like Alejandro Baldé, who is rumored to be leaving. We’ll see in January…
Bayern Munich is also rumored to have interest in Jeltsch, who has not indicated if he is interested in a move at this point.
Juve to put Balogun atop its wish list (ESPN)
Juventus has reportedly put USMNT striker Folarin Balogun atop their wish list:
Juventus have made Monaco striker Folarin Balogun their top priority for the January transfer window due to technical and financial factors, reports Tuttosport. The 25-year-old USMNT international is expected to leave Monaco after a €40 million summer move to Everton collapsed, while Atlético Madrid’s Alexander Sørloth and Frosinone loanee Antonio Raimondo remain alternative targets for Juve.
Another report confirms Bayern’s interest in Mohya (Bild via @iMiaSanMia)
Bild has checked in to confirm the report of Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg that Bayern Munich is interested in Borussia Mönchengladbach phenom Wael Mohya:
BILD confirm @Plettigoal’s information that Bayern are showing interest in Gladbach talent Wael Mohya (17). Max Eberl and Christoph Freund have contacted Mohya’s immediate entourage to inquire about the contract details and modalities of a potential move. Bayern have made their ‘homework’ regarding the player. If they decide to make a serious push, there’s a good chance they would get him.
Roma could attempt move for Gittens of Leweling (ESPN)
AS Roma could be toying with the idea of making a move for Chelsea’s winger Jamie Gittens or VfB Stuttgart’s Jamie Leweling:
Chelsea winger Jamie Gittens is on Roma’s winter wish list. Stuttgart’s Jamie Leweling is also a player of interest for the Serie A giants, who almost agreed a deal to sign him back in the summer.
