There could be a massive wrench in Bayern Munich’s plans to secure a loan for Chelsea FC attacker Nicolas Jackson — an injury sustained by Liam Delap.
Per David Ornstein of The Athletic (via @iMiaSanMia), the deal is off and Jackson has been told to fly back to London:
BREAKING: Chelsea have informed Bayern they will not proceed with the Nicolas Jackson loan following Liam Delap’s injury today.
Chelsea have told Jackson to return to London.
Speculation started after Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Fulham when
BBC Sport journalist Nizaar Kinsella (via @iMiaSanMia) captured a quote from Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca:
Maresca: “I just finished the game, came here and have no idea. We’re going to sit now and we’ll see. Honestly, I have no idea.”
Delap’s injury is substantial. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also posted a quote from Maresca:
🚨⚠️ Maresca: “Liam Delap is expected to be out for 6 to 8 weeks because of this type of injury”, told TNT Sports.
So much for these posts, eh?
