Barcelona vice-president Elena Fort says the club “can’t guarantee” their next home game will be played at Camp Nou as the wait to return home continues.
The Catalan giants had hoped to play in their renovated stadium for the first time in the Gamper Trophy but that wasn’t possible
The date then slipped to the first home game of the season – against Valencia on Sunday – but it’s now been confirmed that match will be played at the Estadi Johan Cruyff instead.
Fort has now been asked if Barcelona’s next
home game will be back at Camp Nou and told Catalunya Radio: “I can’t guarantee that we will play against Getafe at Camp Nou.”
The Barcelona chief says the club are still working hard on the situation but does not know what will happen next.
“We have been working until the last minute to get all the paperwork done, but it hasn’t been possible,” she said. “We hope to have the authorization. We’ll try to get there as soon as possible. We’re working to start at Camp Nou on October 1st.“
