Here we track Mizzou, but the Tigers are amongst the teams with the fewest players in the portal.
If you follow the transfer tracker it sometimes can be overwhelming to follow just one team. So one of the things I’ve done with RockM+ is taking to tracking all of the SEC. And there is a LOT of players from the league in the transfer portal. I think it’s helpful to know what your rivals are going through to keep perspective about where your team sits.
So where does Mizzou stand? They’re graduating 5 players and have three more enter the transfer portal. The portal entries ties them for 5th in the league
for fewest entries. Auburn currently has one (their season just ended so more can still go in), Florida, Oklahoma and Texas all have 2 in the portal. Alabama and Texas A&M have tied the Tigers with three.
The portal has been open less than a week, so more can still change. But 65 players in the conference have already announced their intention to enter the portal, or have already entered.
Seven South Carolina Gamecocks entered, 6 each from Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Kentucky. In all 123 players are either graduating or transferring, and just two have declared for the NBA Draft.
There are just 30 signed incoming freshmen, also.
And if you’re into that sort of thing… KU has seen 7 players enter the transfer portal, have two starters graduating, another certainly heading for the NBA Draft. So that’s 10 guys. And one of them might be transferring to Mizzou of all places!
Point being, it’s tough out there for everyone.

Football offseason continues to march along with Nathan taking a look at the Non-Con, well at least the first three opponents of the season in UAPB, Kansas, and Troy:
The Tigers travel back to Lawrence for the first time since 2005, which feels fitting given how much both programs have changed since the last time that trip mattered. The vibes in kansas seem to land somewhere between uneasy and mildly resigned. The Jayhawks are coming off a disappointing season, which, in fairness, also qualifies as a fairly normal one for them. They finished 5-7, including losses in their final three games that knocked them out of bowl eligibility.
Last year’s game in Columbia was a bit of a sliding doors for the Jayhawks and Tigers. The winner caught some momentum, the loser stumbled the rest of the way. Let’s keep the tradition of spanking the Jayhawks going forward though, what do you think?
Mizzou Baseball was taking on South Carolina this weekend, and Sophie had the preview:
The Tigers have a current record of 20-14, and a home record of 11-7, after their huge victories against Missouri State and Kentucky. The team has an overall batting average of .287 and a slugging percentage of .438.
The Gamecocks have an overall record of 15-19, with their away record being 1-8. The team has a .253 batting average and a .446 slugging percentage, with more strikeouts than Mizzou.
The Tigers dropped the opener 5-1. They’re back in action tonight at 6pm at Taylor Stadium.
TRANSFER TRACKER
If you aren’t checking daily, you’re missing out on the updates! Here’s the latest from yesterday:
The big news of the day revolved around Mizzou being connected to Alabama transfer Aidan Sherrell. There were a pair of point guards in Roddie Anderson and TJ Burch, but I wouldn’t expect much there right now. Jalen Cox and Christian Hammond are both interesting names and maybe worth keeping an eye on. For more on Bryson Tiller @DataMizzou has an update on the Rock M+ forums.
- OVER ON ROCK M+ we’re deep into the Portal, Matt Watkins is crushing things over there.
- He’s putting together a list of players who are more than just in contact, but who is a target and likely to see campus.
